It´s been a while since my last post, but looking at Javier Izquierdo´s photos of British Tourists in Mallorca has shaked me from my lazyness and made want to share them with you, in case there´s someone still there... Anyways, they illustrate perfectly what I mean when someone asks me about going to Ibiza or Mallorca in the summertime.

Best performance ever

Yesterday night I had the big luck to go dancing where Prince Rama were doing a performance, their "live exorcise dance" was by far the best performance I´ve ever seen, a gym/dance class, an amazing video projection and a public that was totally given to them. Super fun. I hope they´ll repeat it.

Today, talking to my friend Rubén he showed me the new García-Alix´s website and I´ve been looking at it the whole afternoon. It´s so cool, good looking, macarra, inspiring... and all his photos are so amazing, they make me think about Madrid, the Madrid that I love so much and I miss every day, the one of the fun nights, neverending weekends, friends, wildness, youth. The one I hope to come back one day. By now I´ll look at the photos and dream. You can dream about it too with the best guide here.

Imaginary friends

There are many photographers that I admire and whose works impress me endlessly, but if I had to choose my three favorite those would be Eggleston, Paul Graham and Mark Cohen, I feel their work really close to me and my interests and they teach me amazing things just looking at their books, they are my imaginary friends and masters.
Today I found this video of Mark Cohen that I find really fun, almost as fun as the people´s comments below it...

Tomorrow Eric and I are gonna be DJing at Secret Project Robot (389 Melrose St in Bushwick) to help them raise some funds to transform their outsoor space into an amazing garden. There´s gonna be food, drinks, music and friends: irresistible!

Lo que hacen por mi los podcasts de Radio 3 desde que estoy fuera de España no lo sabe nadie. Hoy si ir más lejos, estaba escuchando el último de Hoy programa con los Niños Mutantes y han puesto una de mis canciones favoritas de siempre y que hacía mucho tiempo que no escuchaba. Cómo me gusta Fuerte y Surfin Bichos y Chucho y Mercromina...la voz de Fernando Alfaro es como la de un buen amigo: familiar y querida.

HYPER/HYPO

Eric and I are gonna be part of the group show Hyper/Hypo, curated by Brad Truax at Secret Project Robot. The opening will be from 8 to 11 pm, next saturday March 10th. I´m very excited to show my work among all this good artists and in such a cool space. I hope to see you there...

Birthday present

This year I´ve been lucky and recieved many cool presents for my birthday, amongst them the wonderful book by Ricardo Cases called "Paloma al aire". I highly recommend it, not just because the photos are amazing, also as an object is beautiful, well designed and I just can´t stop looking at it since I got it. It´s published by Dalpine and Dewi Lewis & Schaden. Check it out!

¡A Madrid!

Parece que la expo de fotos estenopeicas va a pasar por Madrid, y por la Casa de los Jacintos nada menos.
Será el día 15 de marzo. Me encantaría estar allí, pero bueno, no puede ser. Os animo a ir a verla y luego me contais como ha ido, hacedme un informe porfa.
